overheard

my friend heather's blog about her kids has a regular "overheard" feature that i've decided to steal. here we go:

overheard when lisa, amelia's nanny, was trying to find parking: "Jesus Christ!," followed with, "that's what my daddy says when he can't find parking."


in response to the rhetorical question "why can't we find parking, amelia?": "because the other cars are parked there, silly billy!"

before picking up halmoni and harabiji from the airport: "when i see my grandma and grandpa, i'm going to run up and give them a big squeezy hug!"


when greeting halmoni and harabiji at the airport: [silence].

after pretending to fall down: "momma, my baby sister pushed me down!"

explaining why she has to read the book out loud herself: "it's for my baby sister."

stating how many baby sisters she has: "five."

stating where her baby sister(s) is/are at any given time: "school."

stating how many baby brothers she has: "none."

stating how many baby brothers she wants: "no."
