Amelia loves watering plants so much that trying to convince her to stop is a very difficult task. I've taken to watering plants at night, after she's gone to bed, to avoid having to wrestle the hose away from her. Here we are watering the plants in the front of the house. It looks incredibly lush, doesn't it? Ahhhh, California.

Here she is "sweeping" our interior patio. Evidently, many old houses in SF have a little interior patio to help bring in light to rooms that otherwise wouldn't get any; it's called the Rousseau-style, I'm told. Too bad that trend never made it to New York brownstones. Anyway, we're growing all kinds of herbs, lettuces, a couple orchids, and a ton of geraniums. And you can see at the bottom left of the picture this beautiful dwarf Meyer lemon tree that our friends the Fabenses just sent us. I'm so excited to have it in our patio!

And here is Amelia practicing lawn mowing in our neighbor's concrete driveway. (Don't worry, those neighbors have actually moved out, so there is no chance that a car would come tearing out of that garage and run over our little darling.) Unfortunately, we don't have a patch of grass for her to mow. There's always the suburbs!
