poppa kwong took the bar after a summer of studying, and we went off to celebrate in southern california. first stop: nancy yiyi and alex's house:

at the scripps aquarium in la jolla. don't know why poppa and amelia look the way they do.
all in all, we had a great time. even the drive was surprisingly painless. but towards the end, despite the lions, giraffes, dolphins, etc., amelia missed home. at the end of a long day last week, amelia turned to me and said, momma, i want to go home, too hot here, too loud. and so we're back home. definitely not too hot here, and pretty peaceful too, except for the tantrum that amelia threw during dinner.
