why do our kids have such crazy hair?

there have been so few pics of amelia lately that even though this is kind of a weird pic, i feel obliged to post it:

two tales

at amelia's school, the kids have been working on writing their own stories. the kids come up with the stories, and dictate them to the teachers. amelia came home with these two:

Tale #1:
Once upon a time there was a princess. The princess was asleep. Then the kitty cat dragon came and woke her up. Then the wizard came and put her back to sleep. The Lion Dragon came and woke her up again. Then the wizard came and put her back to sleep. Then the wizard put all of them to sleep!

Tale #2:
Once upon a time there was a fairy flying in the sky. The wizard came and put her to sleep with the magic potion. Then the fairy woke up by the dragon. Then the wizard came and put her back to sleep. Then the fairy was flying in the sky again. The End.

hm, i'm sensing a theme here...
