the halloween report

so amelia was cinderella:and gaby was supposed to be gus-gus, except that he refused to wear the hat and mouse ears that i made for him, and barely withstood the application of face makeup (note the little tail i sewed on his pants, though):
so we tried this monkey costume that poppa bought him:
you see those hands? he ripped off the headpiece within seconds.
happy halloween!

gaby goes to stanford

impromptu baptism

the weather is glorious, and we went to the beach with cenon and bill, who are visiting us from new york. we made the mistake of taking gaby down to the water to splash around a little, and he loved it so much that we found ourselves stripping him down and letting him just wade around in the freezing cold water. you'd think he would have begged to get out of that water, but he fought us tooth and nail when we carried him out.

welcome to organized team sports

you know that you're deeply entrenched in yuppieville when you find yourself driving to your kid's soccer game in an SUV, she's clad in a professional-looking soccer uniform, and your kid's team isn't coached by a parent, but rather by an official hired coach. all that said, these little girls are awfully cute, albeit mostly clueless about the actual sport being played, notwithstanding the efforts of aforementioned official hired coach.

thanks auntie bo and uncle david for keeping me fashionable!
