cape walk

what is a cape walk? it's what happens at amelia's school every year--in lieu of kids coming to school in costume, the kids decorate capes and then walk around the block to show them off to the neighborhood. amelia was paired up with pascal, and they had such a good time at the cape walk that she declared him to be her "best friend."

i'm a 100 days old today, and all i got was this pomegranate.

and cake, i guess. all i'm allowed to do is drool on this food here.i'm the only one who can't eat, that's why i'm the only one not smiling.

the girl in the middle is brooklyn, amelia's new best friend. she came home from school last week and said this: "momma, brooklyn and i realized that we're best friends!" i asked her how they "realized" it, and she said, gesticulating emphatically, "i don't know mom, but we just REALIZED IT!!!!"

every morning, amelia insists that we put gaby in bed with her for a snuggle, which really amounts to a mauling.

the gaby report

we've appointed amelia as the "gaby reporter"--mainly for when we're in the car and we can't see what's going on back there. today, gabriel was hanging out in our room when i was fixing lunch in the kitchen, and i asked amelia for the gaby report. she came back and said, "he's fine, momma, you can see the pictures." i said, "what pictures?," not knowing that she had swiped the camera. "the pictures i took, momma. see?" and she was right, he was fine.

poh-poh's mangoes

poh-poh sent us three mangoes from her tree--the most fragrant, sweet, delicious mangoes we've ever tasted. i had to practically rip from amelia's paws the seed that she had stripped of all flavor.
